Sumitomo Type-72M12 PLUS KIT3

The Sumitomo TYPE-72M12+ is a ribbon fusion splicer for up to 12-fibre ribbon. It uses clad alignment assisted by NanoTune and Enhanced-ACAS, and carries a patented dual automatic independent oven so one splice heats while the next is prepared.

Verified performance: typical splice speed of 11 seconds for single mode fibre, typical heating time of 28 seconds for a 40 mm ribbon sleeve, and typical insertion loss of 0.05 dB for single mode. Battery capacity is 180 splice cycles.

Field durability: rated for a drop from 76 cm on five faces excluding the top, dust protection equivalent to IP5x after eight hours in circulating particles smaller than 75 microns, and water protection equivalent to IPx2 under dripping water.

Ribbon splicing is where the time saving sits. Twelve fibres in one splice cycle rather than twelve separate cycles is the difference between a shift and a day on a high fibre count build.

Typical applications: ribbon fibre jointing on FTTx and backbone builds, high fibre count cable splicing, joint closure work, and restoration on ribbon cable.

Supplied in a hard case with: TYPE-72M12+ ribbon fusion splicer, rechargeable battery, cleaver, hot jacket remover, fibre holder set comprising FHS-025, FHS-09 and FHM-12, fibre optic stripper, cooling tray, spare electrode set, power supply with lead, and USB lead.
