Keysight Technologies U9391C

The Keysight U9391C is a comb generator covering 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz with a minimum tone spacing of 10 MHz. It provides the phase reference required to calibrate PNA and PNA-X network analysers for phase-sensitive measurement.

What it is for: a standard S-parameter calibration corrects magnitude and relative phase, but nonlinear vector network analysis on the PNA-X needs an absolute phase reference across frequency. The comb generator supplies a signal with harmonically related tones whose phase relationship is characterised, so the analyser can correct for its own frequency response.

Keysight characterises these modules using a precision calibration technique traceable to NIST, and builds them on InP MMIC technology for phase stability across the comb.

Configuration of this module: option FFF, all 3.5 mm connectors female on the module.

Supplied with: USB documentation and software, 50 ohm SMA male termination rated to 18 GHz, DC bias cable with banana plug, 1.8 m USB Type-A to Type-B cable, and an ECal storage case.

Normally hired alongside the Keysight N5242B PNA-X.
